Careless budgeting-Spending more money on products, services, hired help, supplies, and materials than you can afford is not wise. You should only get what you need and get what you can afford. Determine how much you can realistically make back in profit in a given week, month, or quarter.

Giving up too soon-This probably is the worst mistake you can make. Giving up is for quitters. You cannot give up too soon if you truly desire to succeed in life. Never hold onto any self-defeating attitudes even when times are tough.

Not having a concrete plan-Ideally, you should draw up a complete financial and operational plan before you even start your home business. It should include production goals and a mission statement.

Not being organized-Your production slows down dramatically when you are not organized. Find a place for all your documents, computer USB and storage drives, and all your supplies.

Embezzling money-This applies mostly to someone who may work at home as a telecommuter at least part time. Maybe this person is partly in charge of company funds. If you are involved a corporation and you are stealing money out of the company account for personal expenses without permission, you could suffer serious consequences.

If you need help advancing your work at home operation many resources are available to you. For instance, there may be free or low cost business counseling in your area.

Numerous online and offline multimedia productions also provide you with the home business tutoring you need. Networking and support is also found both online and offline.

Usually your business peers can help you gain the support you need as well. It would be to your advantage to find a mentor as well.
